YUCK! Well you've read some of my opinions already about this DUB version. I am not very happy. Why would Nelvana spend all this money on such a popular anime as Cardcaptor Sakura and then just chop it up and ruin it? They made it so plain stupid that it lacks the appeal of the original. I HATE the voices, especially Sakura's and Kero's. Sakura's voice actress is 14 years old but her voice sounds so deep and bratty and mean that it almost sounds like a boy's voice. It's even lower than Li's voice and if you were just listening to the conversations instead of watching it, you would never know that a girl was speaking. Nelvana can't even do that right. I mean, look at the show Recess. Recess is a Saturday Morning Cartoon made by Disney. These characters are also in fourth grade just like the kids of Cardcaptors but the kids of Recess actually SOUND like they're in fourth grade. And NONE of them sound bratty or mean or a valley girl. Unless, they actually play the "valley girls".
It's really awful. The worst thing is that, they changed the whole character's personality. Syaoran is not at all mean to Meiling as Li is to Meilin Rea. Tomoyo is not at all Madison Taylor. And Julian and Tori? Oh my gosh. I can't believe it. I felt so sorry for Tomoyo's character because she was the one that Nelvada changed most. Poor Tomoyo.
Nelvana also chopped up several episodes and just put them together. They would take one scene from one episode and then put it together with another episode and just make their own little stupid story. I was totally shocked. I've never seen a show so chopped up like that. What would CLAMP think?
Another thing that I hate? The names Nelvana kept from the original are even pronounced differently. Sakura's name is now pronounced as "SakUUUUra" with an emphasis on the "U". Kero-chan is now, "KEEEEro" with an emphasis on the "E".
And the word Clow... Oh my gosh. Clow is pronounced like "blow" but in Cardcaptors it's pronounced like "Clown" and it just sounds so funny now. Oh dear. Oh dear. And you know what else? I hate the names they chose for the characters. Fujitaka became "Aiden"???? Come on. Yukito became Julian? Eriol became Eli??? Eriol is already an English name because he came from England, and Nelvada changes it even so? The other names sound too Japanese so they change it. Syaoran's name sounds too Chinese so they change it. And so Eriol's name is too English so they change that too?? (Shakes Head) I hate it! I hate it!

"Cardcaptors" the Sakura english comic is also changed. Touya and
Yukito are known as "Toya" and "Yuki" BUT despite some changes the CCS English comic is a whole lot
better than the DUB.
First of all, most the names stayed the same just different
spellings.
Other than Touya and Yukito's different spelling of their names,
Kaho's
last name of Mizuki is now spelled with an "s", and it does stay
true to the story line. A lot of people complain about the font
though, but you know what?
I don't really mind it. To me, although it still has its problems
I think
it's a lot better than the Sailormoon MIXX translations.
Well, I'll do it as list OK?
No. 1: Because he's just so cute. Both the anime and manga versions of him. He looks good with blondish hair and dark brown hair. I just want to pinch his cheeks or something and go "Grandma loves you..." but in this case it would be "Cindy loves you..." Yeah, I know I'm strange. Oh well.
No. 2: The boy knows how to dress! Do you know another 10-12 year old that can dress as well as Syaoran? Just check out his little fashion page for that.
No. 3: The way he blushes around Yukito and then Sakura and the way he just runs away when he becomes really embarassed and nervous.
No. 4: The way he's always worried about Sakura and when he said her name for the first time. Ahhh... so sweet.
No. 5: His little death glares with Touya and Kero-chan.
So funny. I like how Kero-chan would start to insult him and then
Syaoran would do the same and they would start to argue. And those
sparks would appear.
No. 6: He's just darn nice, sweet and
understanding. He can't stand to see people cry and he can't
really say no. Even to Meiling.
No. 7: The way he's
gullible sometimes and how he can be convinced so easily by Tomoyo
and everyone else.
No. 8: The way he get's jealous of Eriol because he's thinking that he's putting the moves on Sakura and also the way he got jealous of Sakura when she was putting her cuteness charms on Yukito.
No. 9: The way he scowls and frowns most of the time. Do you know anyone else that can scowl and frown like that and can still be so cute?
No. 10: His smile. Syaoran's smile is really cute. Awww...
No. 11: The way he high kicked Touya when they first met. And the way they were almost going to have an all out fight until Yukito showed up. LOL.
No. 12: Did I mention that he's cute?
Ahhh... I'll add more later.
So why is Eriol the man? The Pimp? Well... because I just feel that he is. I can just imagine grown up Eriol being the Pimp Daddy because he's just so sly. That smile, that face, the double facade. The odd sense of humor. He's just the man. He can manipulate you, can make you angry yet he has this big heart in the end. And you know, fanfic writers with not so clean minds make him out to be the sex god spiced with all the ecchiness ^_^. And he can go any which way... if you know what I mean. Tomoyo, Kaho, Syaoran... hell, anyone. I can just see him walking down downtown Tokyo or the Vegas Strip or Hollywood Blvd with this fluffy mink coat and cane and the theme from Saturday Night Fever following him around. Oh yeah, Eriol is just the man. Girls will swoon. Guys will swoon. And Suppi will have a sugar rush.
Ok, these reasons are a bunch of nonsense but still, I think I've made my point across I think.
