Differences in the Anime and Manga

The one big difference between the manga and the anime is the subtle but sweet relationship of Tatsuya and Minami. The anime really down played their "love" for each other and made Minami's feelings sort of discreet. Even though it was Minami that had told Tatsuya her true feelings for him early on in the manga.

So here is a list of the differences... Although the anime really did follow the manga very well, I wished that the anime writers had kept some of these parts because it really does show Minami's feelings for the brother she loved most...

Difference #1
Episode #16: Ep. #16 is the episode when Minami got sick because Kazuya had told her that he likes her. She couldn't eat or concentrate because, well... the person who told her that he loved her was Kazuya. In the show, it was Kazuya that saw Minami sick when she fell asleep in the baseball club meeting. When Minami went to the nurse's office, it was Kazuya that brought her home and it was Kazuya that talked to her father. Then Tatsuya was there to give her lemons because when they were kids Tatsuya had given her lemons when she had also gotten sick and the next day she had felt better. Minami was really happy that he had remembered that and she told him that she loved him.
In the manga... it was different. Minami was walking down the hallway and it was Tatsuya that immediately knew she was sick while Kazuya and Koutarou didn't even see it. It was Tatsuya that walked her home. It was Tatsuya that helped her up to her room and before he put her to bed, Minami said that she loved him. It was a really nice moment. I don't know why the anime decided to change this story line slightly. I was disappointed by it.

Difference #2
Episode #19: This is the episode where Tatsuya had told Minami that she should forget about the kiss that had happened between them a few days back. He tells her that something like that should be taken more seriously because he thinks that what she did wasn't really serious at all because she hardly thinks about it anymore. Besides, it would be better for her to forget about it because of Kazuya... Well, in the show Minami tells him that she won't forget about it because it was her first kiss. She smiles at him and says goodbye....
In the Manga, it was much cuter. She tells Tatsuya the same thing... That she won't forget about it, BUT the most important thing is that she said suki... IE... she told him that she won't forget about it ever because it was her first kiss and it was from the one she loves... <-- see isn't that much sweeter? And more of an "awww" moment?

Difference #3
Episode #29: This is the episode where Tatsuya got traded to the baseball club from the boxing club. In the manga, Tatsuya got traded because Kuroki (the baseball manager) learned that Sawai (the boxing club manager) liked the show Urasei Yatsura and is a big fan of Lum. Therefore, Kuroki gave Sawai a picture of Lum in her animal print outfit signed by Takahashi Rumiko (haha) to give Tatsuya to the baseball club. Sawai accepted this and Tatsuya got mad. Then when Koutarou learned that Tatsuya got traded because of a signed picture from a manga artist, he tried to make Tatsuya go back to the boxing club by trying to give him a picture of Punch signed by Adachi Mitsuru (haha) but Tatsuya ripped that up because he said he hated manga artists. In the anime it was much different. Sawai still traded Tatsuya because of what Kuroki gave him but it wasn't a picture of Lum or anything. If the anime had kept what Adachi did in the manga it would have been totally hilarious. I mean, gosh, Tatsuya getting traded because of a signed picture of Lum? Poor Tatsuya...
