About Me Elaborated
Hmm... what can I say about me really? I think I'm a fun person. I'm a total nerd. I get obsessed a lot. Not like "Fatal Attraction" obsessed but materialistic things. For example being totally obsessed with Marmalade Boy so I wanted Everything that had anything to do with that anime and when I was obsessed with River Phoenix in Jr. High, I would make my dad rent all those River Phoenix movies just so I can watch him. It's because of him that I discovered Stand By Me one of my favorite movies of all time and made Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade cool. Even though I did like Harisson Ford's and Sean Connery's antics.

I tend to talk a lot especially if the topic is of interest to me. I love English. I love to write short stories but sometimes when inspiration fades away so does the story. I love music. Talk to me about anything to do with music, I can talk to you forever. @_@... I like Ska and Grunge/Alternative mostly. The older bands I think are much better than the new ones that are out right now. Like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Weezer, Pixies, Blur, REM, and Radio Head. I was totally into REM when I was in high school while everyone else was listening to Jay-Z and Backstreet Boys and Puff Daddy (now known as P Diddy).

What else? I love to read books. I hate those Harlequin Romance books that my mom and everyone else's mom seems to read, I don't really like science fiction, I HATE those same old, same old John Grisham books but those other books in between... Snow Falling on Cedars, Catcher in the Rye, Feast of All Saints, Jacob I have Loved and Wuthering Heights are my favorites. In Jr. High, I LOVED reading V.C. Andrews, despite having all her series having the themes of incest and poor girl turning to rich girl and redemption and evil relatives... there was just something about it that was so intriguing. Not to mention, there was some sexual content too that made every single girl in Jr. High either intruiged or giggle or imagine them. Come on, I know that was another reason we read her books (lol). I loved the Dollanganger series the best. And her only non series book My Sweet Audrina.

A lot of times I am way too nice to people. I can't stand to say no. I really can't. I hate to see people cry and I get a little uncomfortable when people talk to me about serious matters. I am not very good with things like that. I give advice but I feel really uncomfortable. Especially when people talk to me about relationships. I don't like talking about my relationships and so I don't like to hear others talk about theirs either. I don't know why I don't like talking about it. I guess even though I like to make people laugh or joke around with them or come off as someone that is sweet, charming, and just happy go lucky, I really am a private person. Sometimes, it's just hard to be open to people.

I think a lot of people have a very different views of me. I am crazy sometimes, I really am very forgetful and I get distracted a lot. I like to treat people, to travel, to watch movies. To just talk to people about nothing in particular. Like having a conversation about which James Bond is better. Sean Connery or Roger Moore? It's fun to talk about nothing. I have a quick temper but it totally fades away after like 2 minutes.

Here is a list of 100 things about me. This was posted in a Forum that Kirsten runs in Kogeru.net

Those Innocent, Awful, yet Great childhood days...
Hmmm... where to start. Most of my early childhood days was spent in the Philippines. I have little fragments of memories of living there because I was young when my family moved to Wisconsin. My mom and I lived in my Grandfather's house. My Dad lived in Wisconsin and would come back like 2 times a year to visit my Mom and me.

I went to Catholic school there, wearing various "sailor suit" uniforms with matching briefcases too! Here are two pictures of me. One is in Kindergarten and the other was in First grade when I spent a semeseter there in a class that was inside this really huge church. I remember being so excited about leaving that place and since our lunch time was either spent inside the classroom and or outside playing in the church yard, my friends and I would run around the classroom, jumping over desks and writing on the black boards. We would buy snacks from the various street vendors that was outside the chruch. Sometimes we would get this desert called "Taho" (pronounced with a short o, not like Lake Tahoe). It was sweet and delicious. But the best time was when my mom or one of my aunts would pick me up and we would go to the park or go to my grandparent's house. I loved my grandparent's house. It was huge and they had these wooden floors that was cleaned and waxed a lot so my cousin and I had fun sliding up and down those floors with our socks.

Those times were really innocent. Sometimes I wish I can go back and visit that old church and all those other parks and my gradparent's house that is now owned by strangers. Sometimes I wish that things didn't change so fast.

When we moved to Wisconsin... It was like a total different world. There was snow. It was cold. People looked different, people spoke differently... The nuns in my school looked so scary, especially when they had their habits on. And I remembered crying when my mom and my aunt dropped me off in my first grade classroom. The kids all looked at me curiously. I wanted to run out of there. That was when I realised that I was the only one different in that classroom. The only one with black hair, with darker skin... I remembered being so happy that this girl named Amanda had the same color hair I did even though her's was dark brown. Later on, she told me in Jr. High that she remembered that day when I first went into Sister Anne's class and because Sister Anne didn't want me to feel odd she told Amanda (the one that had the darkest hair of all) to go along with her hair being black so I wouldn't be the only one.

Those school years were tough. Especially if you put someone "different" in a school where no one was used to such things. Sometimes I hated going to school, sometimes I liked it. I guess as the years went on I got used to having people treating me differently because I was different. Middle School was all right. But I think Jr. High was a good experience. Of course there were times when I hated being in school like everyone else. And since I lived in a small city, everyone knew everyone else. I can show you my yearbook and I can tell you a story of everyone in my class.

I moved to Las Vegas when I was in 10th grade. And like how I felt when I was a little kid moving from Manila to Wisconsin, I also felt the same way when I moved from small city Appleton to the crazy city of Las Vegas. Boy, I was in a total culture shock. There were actual people who looked like me here and there was soo much diversity. I was so surprised. Everything was just so open unlike conservative Appleton. Because of that, my friends and I did such crazy things. Things that I would never imagine I would do when I still lived in WI. I wonder if it's like that for other people who lived in a small place and come to a city that's totally different.

All in all though, even though I sometimes wish that I was somewhere else, that I sometimes wish that I can just be invisible... I don't really think I want to change anything. After all, what happened in the past always makes you stronger and much better experienced in the future. That's what I believe and I think most people agree with me on that.
