I first have to say that I can't STOP reading The Girl Who Played Go. Such short chapters and intruiging because since it is a historical story somewhat and is set in China in the 1930's, I know a little bit of what went on back then. I can understand what they were going through. In my Jr. Year, I took the History of Modern China. Such an excellent class and I learned so much about the country that wasn't even opened up to the world until the 1970's with the help of Nixon no less. So I'm totally feeling the book. I mean so far, it really isn't one of the best books I've read but it does make you keep reading.
So anyway, what I wanted to write here was how much I missed Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel when they played these old Canadian T.V. shows often. They were great because most, if not all of the time, U.S. TV programs never at all have that "interesting" factor to it. Most of the time, they're corny and they cast Hillary Duff in it (I swear to god that girl is 26 and not 16). I LOVED the old You Can't Do that on Television reruns. I watched it everyday or every weekened or whenever it was on. This was the TV show that invented Nickelodeon's trademark green slime and not many even know that. That show so damn funny. The firing squad, guys dressing as girls, a chef that farts and burps on his own burgers, kids that barf. Ah it was lewd but it was a kids show and it was just out there and just plain weird. I loved it.
Nick also played the old Degrassi Jr. High reruns when I was little. It was so old, they still wore the ugly 80's fashion but I LOVED shows like that. I still do. American television NEVER ever show the real life of kids. I mean what do we have here? Dawson's Creek? That is NOT a realistic portrayal of kids or teens, in my opinion. To some it may be but to me, especially my background I felt that nothing about it applied to me at all. But those shows that I would watch when I was little they were real. I felt they were real. How many times to I have to say that?
Degrassi Jr. High, You can't Do that on television, Ready or Not, and Salute Your Shorts (We were so going to make that a Yume layout if we didn't close). God I loved them. I wished they would make more shows like that. It's nice to reminisce.
Kevin "Ug" Lee (get is nick?) was funny. Donkey Lips, Sponge, Budnick, Telly... Nickelodeon just isn't the same anymore.
I am so getting old. I mean, I still remember Double Dare, Mr. Wizard's World and Pinwheel and Jem. Ah... The good old days

Ender's Game has got be one of the best known science fiction stories there is by Orson Scott Card. I have never liked science fiction. Sure I've read J.R.R. Tolkien but I was never a fan. I read the Hobbit, I read The Once and Future King... but it just isn't my thing. One of the reasons I actually gave Ender's Game a chance was because my sister said it was one of the best books she ever read. I trusted my sister's words since she did say that Jane Eyre was a good book and she was right about that one.
Ender's Game is a good book. Not the greatest book I ever read but it kept me interested so much that I was even reading it during traffic. Though the story is basically (to put it bluntly) about children trying to save the world, it was very thoughtful and I can very much see why it has such a big fan base among children because Card DOES have a great understanding of children. He writes them very realistically and intellectually even though many people will say that it is unrealistic because of the same thing.
It almost reminds me of Evangelion even though Evangelion is a whole lot more freaky and just plain weird. I like Ender's attitude towards everything. He is smart, calculating, cold, but still has a heart and still is willing to throw his real feelings out to someone that will listen, that will care, even if the situation he is involved in, requires you to be alone so you can "kill" the enemy better.
The book's pace is fast. So if you are in a hurry, you'll definitely finish it without any problems. Check out Enders's Game. It's intruiging, fun, funny, and shocking as well because it IS truth. Sure buggers and all that aren't true (or are they?) but it's very real especially when he writes about Ender and his friends and the struggles they go through.

This blog will still be here... but it will be for reviews. No. Not another Yume reborn but it will be reviews of movies and such and you know I have tons of opinions about that. Various commentary on book also. oooh... how exciting. But I love doing it so there.
I graduate today. ^^

Ah. It was my birthday just a few hours ago. Since everyone has finals around here and my family has work, I didn't really celebrate it. I was gone almost all day because of finals. My design group took forever to burn our site on a CD and our power point presentation because the computers were very very slow for some reason. We eventually handed the CD to our prof. like 2 hours later after the class began. We were getting so frustrated and the FTP was slow as hell. I know Joe was getting frustrated that's for sure. Well, it doesn't matter anyway its all over now but I do have to say that it was really nice working with them. They were a great group to work with.
I'm totally a sucker for Depeche Mode now. Yeah, yeah. they're old but their songs are so awesome. Everytime I listen to them I was like, yeah... I wanna dance. I can just sing it right now:
I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
And I just can't seem to get enough, AhhhWe slip and slide as we fall in love
And I just can't seem to get enough, ahhh
Ha, I love it.These people who visit our image gallery site at que-sera.net are total idiots. Since we put that site up, we discovered so MANY direct linkers to our images. I am so feed up. At least we have a witty image for all those direct linkers though. So far for everyone who found that particular image in their site stopped direct linking us, thank god. Serves them right.

Anyone know where that quote came from? I'm so sleepy. I didn't sleep til 4 last night because I had such a long day at work, I didn't go home til midnight and then we decided to get Pirates of the Carribean at Wal-Mart at like 12:30 or something and then we were watching it til 3 in morning. Bad idea. It's a funny movie though and Johnny Depp is totally hillarious. Captain Jack Sparrow is like the most ambiguous gay and drunk pirate if I've ever seen one. But yeah... and let's not forget Orando Bloom. I was supposed to do some retouching on my critique paper but nope. I got distracted with that damn movie. Plus we had no paper so I couldn't print it out anyway. What can you do? I had such a terrible night. Maybe because I came to work with a bad feeling and that probably triggered it. I don't know and I don't particulary much care anymore. I am too tired. I won't be home until 11:30 probably tonight and then I have to do that critique. I should have called in sick when I had a chance to, but considering I am such an undecided (<--is that even a word it describe a person?) person, I keep on thinking of what ifs...
Well at least this is my last week. Damn it, I still have e-mail Manuel about this stupid graph thing we have to do. God help me... I'm even too lazy to e-mail. Or rather I'm too tired. I can't stand it anymore. It makes me want to pull all my hair out.
At least it's my birthday in 3 DAYS! WOOT! Maybe my mood will change by then.

It was a very nice day today... or rather it was a very nice day yesterday considering I am now writing this at 2 in the morning. The breeze was just right, the air so sweet, it was like that perfect day you only observe in the movies or feel in your dreams. It was quite nice and it made me happy. And that's saying a lot these days because I'm hardly happy. I think no one is really all happy all the time right? But anyway, though those previous sentences sounded corny, I don't know how else to describe it. What a pretty pretty day. Too bad it was ruined by me going to work and not only that I was late. I hope I won't get written up for it. Still why do I care now? I won't be working there long, I hope.
So our design page is done! Yes! Gosh, I can't believe I have the nerve enough to show my picture in that site. I hate pictures of myself. I even posted a pic of myself here during my high school graduation in this blog somewhere in the past. That was so long ago although I still look the same... well somewhat anyway. Shorter hair, a little fatter. Blah.. fat is the devil isn't it? So many imperfections... to only have a perfect something, that would be nice. Not that I wish for that or anything. I just want to be happy with myself.
Has anyone ever read Jane Eyre? I love the book. She's so stubborn, so spunky, so funny. I love her attitude. A lot of people are put off by it because it's one of those "English books you only read in English class" but Alas, it isn't so. It's different. It's easy to understand and it's funny. Actually it has the drama, it has the romance, it has the stuff that makes you smile and it makes you laugh, it's perfect. Damn. She should be a hero to all the strong, stubborn, headstrong, spunky girls out there. Jane Eyre totally radiates girl power. It's cool. I'm sadded that I just discovered it. I wonder why I had to suffer reading "Pride and Prejudice" in English Lit. Honors when I we should have read this one. And "Return of the Native"? What the hell was that book about? Ok, well I know what that book was about but Thomas Hardy is hard to digest. Him and Moby Dick. I read the first page of that book and I was like.. "what the hell?"
Anyways, I'm going to sleep. I'm already rambling nonsense.
