2002! What a year for Yumemiru
Although, Yume opened in February of 2001, mid-March was when Yume really began. Why? It's because it was March of 2001 when Asuka (known as Sailor Pallas back then) and I wrote our very first review. It took two weeks just for someone to submit, to us weirdos. Weird huh? We didn't know what we were doing back then. But we knew what our purpose was. To give a truthful, honest, opinionated and long review because we were tired of one word, one sentence reviews that were done with our own sites previously. It's still hard for me to imagine that we lasted. 2001 was a fun year for Yume but 2002 had more memories. I mean, it was 2002 when we recieved our very first flame by the great one named
Steph who owns
Sailor Moon Library, it was 2002 when we got ourselves some great sisters,
I Review, Delicious Radiance Reviews, and Reality Reviews. And of course, our closed but not forgotten sisters:
Slayer Reviews and Serenity Reviews. It was also in 2002 that Yume almost closed. I felt very passionate about closing but I'm very glad that we didn't. Thanks again to everyone who supported us.
To my reviewers... well it's 2003. You guys are so great. Without you guys... Yume will never be the same. I *heart* you all. And hopefully, we'll be able to make 2003 a great year as well. Without any frustrations.
So what made 2002 cool? Well, here are some Yume moments that I can never forget @_@... this of course is just a list of our weirdness so if you don't want to read it... go ahead and leave right now and go read the reviews which is probably more interesting anyway.
One
The Ninja Turtles Layout
Ehh... our fist layout of the year. The infamous layout that was made for nostalgia purposes and lasted for 4 days but had the most reponses that we ever did see. Who knew that there were so many fans who loved Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatelo, and Leonardo?
Two
Our first flame, sent to us by Steph-chan that was worthy of putting up. Wow. I love this flame. It's very amusing.
Three
The closure of
Our original guestbook because many immature people liked to spam it and leave rude and hateful comments. How dare those people ruin our fun. Asuka, Mizuki, Eternal Angel and I really had fun spamming on that guestbook too. I still read some of it and it cracks me up. Especially EA's entries. And Asuka's entry about that damned water bottle of hers that she's still looking for. @_@. Talk about a weirdo.
Four
The review that still cracks me up. Don't know why.
Five
EA's
"story" review that could never have worked if I had done it.
Six
The Forrest Gump Layout
Ummm... 'nuf said. Some shrimp salad anyone?
Seven
Asuka's review that suddenly got
interrupted by a strange eyecatch.
Eight
The Rivers Cuomo Layout
Mizuki's Rivers Cuomo layout that gave us the most submissions for personal sites that we ever had. Personal sites, personal sites and even more personal sites. We had more personal sites than anime ones submitted because of this layout. Weird huh? It all has to do with familiarity you know...
Nine
Our almost there closure. I can never forget it. It was in October I believe and it made me write this
article. I mean what do you really experience when you are a WPR owner?
Ten
Mr. Giles himself who hails in good old England. He's my biggest fan you know. LOL. No, I think he takes a strong liking to Mizuki now. Right Mizuki? Oh, we can never forget his ridiculous e-mails and his flames, and all his questbook entries that said we suck. Oh, yeah! He even gave us a "Booby award" because we suck that much (umm... that didn't intend to be a double meaning). As EA, mentioned once, he gave Harry Potter and Merry old England a bad name. But after all that... Giles grew up and took it like a man. He apologized and in turn we forgave him and deleted his infamous flame he sent us. Although that flame was so very funny.
Well, that is all. My top memories of 2002. Good memories, Bad memories... no matter what... most of the cast and crew of Yumemiru stuck together and hopefully we're here to stay a bit longer.
Thank you
Asuka, Mizuki, Eternal Angel, Kari, Cassandra, and Daimira for being here. And though
Ryota and Chiori aren't with us anymore, I thank them too for making 2002 very memorable.
