Give it all to us Baby!

I've noticed that most review sites only review certain anime. Their reason for that is because they want to review something they are familiar with. There's nothing wrong with that reason, but I really disagree with that criteria. Yumemiru reviews all anime because we like to learn something new. There's a lot of other sites out there other than Sailormoon or Cardcaptor Sakura, of course. I think it's best that we review sites that we AREN'T familiar with because not only will it expand our horizons but it will also help the owner to know if we learned anything or not while looking at their site. And, to face something "fresh" and out of the of the blue like that, is the BEST solution. When you don't know anything about a certain site, a certain anime, you know that it is the owners responsiblity, to MAKE you interested in what the owner is presenting. You will know immediately if that owner really gives out the information, if their heart was in it when they made the site, if they worked hard to present you with what they have, and if their explanations make sense to you.

For example, I own four anime sites. Only one of them, can be reviewed by other anime WPRs that have a certain criteria on what they review. Can I ask, why? Don't you, the visitor, want to learn, be persuaded, and be interested in any other anime than what you know? After all, how can you learn something about another show with out something to make you take an interest in it? Don't you want to learn something?

That is exactly why, since the very beginning we always do Featured Layouts because we want you to be interested in other works other than the mainstream shows that are popular right now or read manga that will probably never see the light of day in your nearest book store.

When you do allow yourself to review sites that you aren't familiar with and you actually liked the site or learned from it, I think it's a nice feeling when you tell the owner of that certain site that it was because of them that you became interested in what they have to offer. I smile whenever an average visitor or a reviewer mentions that to me to one of my sites. It really makes me happy that someone out there appreciates something that I put my whole heart to and spent days and nights working on.

My point is, for all the other WPRs out there who only choose to do certain anime, give others a chance as well and review their sites. Look through those other sites and though you may not know if their information is correct or not, you can always help them on their presentation, if they didn't explain it well enough to a newbie like you, and if what they have put forth on the screen is even worthy. Looking at things through fresh eyes are always good and you never know, you might learn something and be interested in something you never knew you would be interested in.
