Our Final Layout
Ah... the last Yume layout ever. I think it was appropriate enough to feature Sakura here of Cardcaptor Sakura and who is also in the new CLAMP series called TSUBASA: Reservoir Chronicle. Sakura after all, was in our first ever layout and ever since then, every time we started in a new place, she was always the one that we featured.
This image is from the doujinshi circle of Patiserrie and is from Tsubasa, Clamp's latest work where many characters of other CLAMP works make a cameo appearance or play a big part. For instance, Arashi and Sorata of X are here, Makona from Magic Knight Rayearth, Chii from Chobits, and many more. Most of all though, the story is centered around the story of Syaoran's love for Sakura (to put it in a very simple way) but instead of Sakura being the main character like she was in CCS, it's Syaoran this time around. AHHH! And you know I have to love that considering Syaoran is one of my favorite characters ever.
To explain the layout a little bit... Although the splash page didn't exactly turn out like how I wanted it, it's to show memories of Yume in a dream like way... so all the things inside that little bubble are things that Sakura is dreaming about. She dreamed up all those layouts. I asked Anna which layouts were memorable to her along with Maureen and so... with their help those memorable layouts are featured on the splash.
The main layout was done by Maureen. The lyrics are from the Beatles. You gotta love the Beatles. Being that they wrote more than 150 songs you can always find an appropriate song for any occassion. And I thought this was a very wonderful song. Anna helped picked another song out too but the Beatles won in the end.
And so... was it all a dream after all? Only Sakura knows... Don't you think it's cute that not ONLY is she dreaming about Yumemiru, she's also dreaming about Syaoran as well? Awwww... so sweet.
The idea for this layout came from the last episode of St. Elsewhere. It was this hospital drama that was on in the 80's that starred many people including Denzel Washington. Although I was too young to remember this show, my class and I were able watch it in my Mass Criticism class. The last scene of the series showed a long shot of the hospital with snow falling all around the building... and as the camera went back, you realize that the hospital was inside a snow globe that was being shaken by an autistic boy. So they idea was that the whole story of St. Elsewhere was created with that child's imagination. This was what I wanted here. The idea of Yumemiru was all in Sakura's dream...
Well that's it. Goodnight to all.
