Hiro and Kisa Souma of Fruits Basket

Ahhh... first I really don't want to explain the whole Fruits Basket story here. If you are unfamiliar with it, check out the "Fruits Basket" link in the "Past Featured Layout" section and read all about it.

First, Hiro and Kisa really remind me of Syaoran and Sakura of CCS. Sakura and Kisa sort of have the same hairstyle and Hiro and Syaoran sort of look the same. Although Sakura and Kisa have totally different personalities, I think Hiro and Syaoran were probably separated at birth or something. Same hot headed personality, same brattiness, same good heart that they hide, and the same fashion sense. They also like girls that are older than them (hehe, although Sakura is older than Syaoran for only like 2 months or something. Am I rambling now?) and so much more.

I like Hiro's character although in someways he seems a bit cliche. But if I say that, Yuki, Kyo, and Tohru have personalities that are a bit cliche as well. Hiro sometimes goes over the top with his insults but they are hella funny and they're true. Especially when he was insulting Tohru about her mother complex and how she hides her hurt with memories of various quotes from a woman long gone. Hiro though admitted to Tohru that even though he wanted so much to be an adult, he was really still a child. A child and a coward that couldn't stand up to his older cousin when he confessed to hime about loving Kisa.

Basically in short, that is the story of these two. Although they are young, (Kisa is in 6th grade, while Hiro is in 5th) their story is already set up for them. Unlike Kyo and Kagura who were also childhood "friends" it seems that right from the start, Kisa and Hiro are meant to be together. Furuba of course, focuses a lot on Kyo, Tohru and Yuki so Hiro and Kisa are just a side story. I do hope that maybe in the future of the manga, Takaya-san will be able to expand their story just a little bit more.

That's really about it. Sorry to all who read this and think it doesn't make sense. You just have to be familiar with the manga and the anime. And another reason would be that I tend to ramble alot. @_@ I can't help it. It's me.
