Aurora-Hime's Rant

Lately, I've been looking at our past reviews and their sites. And I was kinda hurt. These owners who got a bad review from us took our advice and made their site a little better. BUT the only thing is, they didn't even bother to link us or to even thank us. I mean come on. I don't care if you people don't link to Yumemiru. Hey, I don't like it when I have to link to review sites just to get one of my own stupid sites to be reviewed either. But at least say a little thank you once in a while. I don't want to pick on any particular site. You people who read this know who you are. I went to this site a couple weeks ago for example and I noticed that she linked to all the review sites that gave her a good review. When one of my reviewers reviewed her site, she got on our "Nightmares" list. And my reviewer really did give her some good advice and you know what? She changed her whole style and scheme after her review from us and guess what? Not even a mention of a "thanks" or even a link. How hard is it to actually thank someone. Is it because they got a bad review that they don't want other people to know that their site got a 60% or lower from us or something? Are people so arrogant as to think their site is the best and yet when we tell them the honest truth about it, they don't want to hear it? And they would e-mail me back saying I was a bitch or I was rude or one of my reviewers were rude and whatever.

Please. That's just an excuse. It's a little funny too when people e-mail me after their review and would give me these petty excuses about their site and why it's like this or that. NO! I won't accept it. I know what your original intentions were so I know that you're just making up a lie. For example, I reviewed a site dedicated to Yue a while back. In her site, she didn't bother to write the whole name of the characters. She would just write it as Yukito T. or something. I told her that if you actually want to be an informative site, you have to write that WHOLE name down. Not just the initial. I also know that she only wrote the initial because she doesn't know how to spell Yukito's last name. YES... that's right. I know what you people are thinking. And then her excuse was that, Yukito's last name was too LONG! so she only put his initial. I told her that her excuse does not pass with me because if it was TOO LONG then why then did she spell out Sakura's WHOLE name... if her last name was long too? Why didn't she initial Sakura's name? See what I mean?

All I want is a thanks. Just a tiny one. I mean, let us know that you actually appreciate our review if we actually helped you in anyway. There are others though that did thank us and told us honestly that we helped them and what do you know, they actually linked back. I don't want this to be a big thing. I think it just sucks. They would link to review site that gave those owners a good review but they won't link to the one that gave them a bad review. I've seen this happen in so many of the sites we reviewed. And yet they take OUR advice and not those sites that gave them a sugar coated review.

And another thing, I know it doesn't fit in here but why do people bother sending their site for a re-review if they don't even bother to change anything in their site except for the layout??? An example of this would be Bunny's Image Mini Mall. She sent this site to us THREE times. She thought it was bothering us that she sent it in three times but I told her that she can send her site to us 10 times if she wants to but she will never get anywhere from us because she doesn't even bother to make her site better. She doesn't take ANY of our advice. All her "alt tags" in her images still say "Moon 2" even though I'm looking at Neptune pictures. The same words are still spelled wrong, the thumbnails still suck and there is no improvement whatsover except for the layout. I swear people. DON'T send your site to us for a re-review if all you did to improve your site was change the layout! That is so annoying. LAYOUT does NOT matter. It is how you present it. It is the content. Eye-candy comes to play after that.

Asuka's Rant

ok don't you just hate it when the people you review take your advice and don't credit or say thank you or link you in the site. Milkshake by Lycentheria is one of them. This is one of her sites. A shrine to Kao Anis. Since there was absolutly nothing in this site, this is what I said in her review "Maybe make it interesting. Maybe Make you own Kao story or Make-up your own profile for some of them. That would entertain people.. and it will be ever so creative, cuz no one has it. =D. Anyways. I guess that's all." See what a great Idea ne? But then in her collective site (Stained Glass) she put "A small site to the cute Kao anis with interesting thing like profiles and stories of them. Please also vote for the kao which you like best. If I'm not wrong, Milkshake should be the first site with the profiles and story thing." Ok for one thing atleast credit the person or link the person who gave you the damn idea. After I reviewed her site. She shut down her site. She amazingly found my email address and practically yelled at me saying "Actually you kind of hurt me by your review, cause all you talk about is bad things no good things about the entire site, but I don't care now, cause I like my site." and then at the end after all those nonsense she gave me she said "However, I am still gonna thanks you for the idea of making a kao story and profiles for some of them." Ok, yeah right, I don't see any thank you in your site. I mean what are you trying to do? Take someone else's creativity and make people think your the cool person now? Ok I mean All I want is a thank you in your site. And I mean it also should be noticeable because your site is basically the stories and profiles. What's so hard by saying thank you? I mean "Thank You Asuka from Yumemiru for the great Idea of the Stories and Profiles" wow that took less than 5 seconds! That's so hard huh! Ok i'm finished. And why do people bother sending their sites for a review anyway if they don't want to hear bad things about it? Geez.

I know I'm not the greatest reviewer in the world. Sometimes I'm just way too silly and stupid and not even serious **heehee, just look at my current reviews**. But IF you actually take my advice at least mention it somewhere.

Mizuki's rant
I was kind of bored one friday night, so instead of doing a review (Like I *should* have), I went back to a few of the sites I had reviewed in the past, and low and behold...One webmistress actually took my advice and improved her site a great deal!!! My celebration was cut short once I realized she had not thanked Yumemiru or shown me ANY gratitude!

Don't get me wrong, I don't expect a medal of honor or a long gratuital essay on your splash page, but if you took my advice to heart, at least put me in your credits and thank you's page!

And this isn't just about me. Aurora-hime, Asuka, Suiren, Daimira, Usagirl, and Chiori all give great advice because that is what they love doing. Believe it or not, we want you to learn from us and improve your websites. We are all human and do make mistakes, but we can all fix them.

Now, (I'm not going to say any names) another thing that really bugged me was this girl closed her site down most likely because she didn't like the review I gave her. I sincerely felt that she could have done better and there was no need to see a site with potential go down the drain, so I emailed her. A few days later, her site was back up "Back by popular demand!" And those were her exact words. I'm not a complete idiot, and I know I had some influence on her, which was confirmed because she replied to my email telling me so. Even then, not a single, solitary thank you.

Grrr...It's not much to ask, really it's not. If you are too egotistical to give us something as tiny as a simple thank you for taking our own time to critique your site so you can improve it, don't bother taking our advice at all. Period.
